Polymarket Leaderboard: Top Traders by Profit, Live

Who is making money on Polymarket right now. This is Polymarket's public leaderboard, refreshed every 30 minutes, with one column Polymarket does not show: profit as a share of volume, which separates traders who took a few large positions from those who make markets all day.

Source: Polymarket's public leaderboard API, refreshed every 30 minutes. Profit is realized plus unrealized profit and loss for the period. A high profit-to-volume ratio usually means a few large, well-timed positions; a low one usually means market making or high-frequency trading. A dash means most of the profit came from positions opened before the period, so the ratio would mislead.

How to read it

  • Profit is the trader's profit and loss over the period, including open positions marked at the current price. A trader at the top of "Today" may give it back tomorrow.
  • Volume is the dollar value of everything the trader bought and sold in the period.
  • Profit / volume is profit divided by volume. Above 10% usually means a handful of large directional bets that went right, often on one event. Under 1% usually means market making or automated trading, where thin margins repeat over a very large number of trades.

What the leaderboard tells you, and what it does not

Polymarket runs on a public blockchain, so every trade is visible. The leaderboard is a summary of that record. It is useful for three things:

  1. Seeing where the money is concentrated. In election and Fed weeks the top of the monthly board fills with political traders. In sports seasons it fills with sports accounts.
  2. Finding traders worth studying. A consistent all-time profit with a modest profit-to-volume ratio over many markets says more about skill than one big month.
  3. Context for big moves. When a market jumps, checking whether a top-50 trader is behind it is often the fastest explanation. Our whale tracker lists the largest individual trades as they happen.

It does not tell you what to trade. Leaderboards suffer from survivorship bias: for every account at the top, others took similar risks and lost. Profit over one period is a poor predictor of the next.

Copy trading Polymarket leaders

Following a top trader's positions is popular, and several services automate it. Our Polymarket bots guide counts how many top accounts trade at machine speed. Before you copy anyone:

  • You enter later and at a worse price. By the time a trade shows up publicly and your copy fills, the price has often moved.
  • You see the trade, not the reason. A large buy can be a hedge against a position elsewhere, including on another venue.
  • Market makers are hard to copy. Their profit comes from thousands of small trades on both sides, which a copy service cannot reproduce.
  • Paid copy-trading tools carry their own costs. A subscription has to be earned back before any profit is yours.

Frequently asked questions

Where does this data come from?

Polymarket's public leaderboard API. We do not edit the numbers. Names are the usernames traders chose; accounts without one show a shortened wallet address.

Is the leaderboard for Polymarket's US app or the global site?

It covers Polymarket's main, global order book, which is where the large majority of volume trades. Activity on Polymarket's separate US app is not included.

Why is a trader with a smaller profit ranked lower even with more volume?

The ranking is by profit only. Volume shows how much the trader traded to get there.

Can I see a trader's current positions?

Yes, on their Polymarket profile. Click the name in the table.

How do I start trading on Polymarket?

US residents use Polymarket's CFTC-regulated US app, which is not available in eight states. Our guide to using Polymarket in the US and our Polymarket review cover sign-up, fees and funding.
